The vaccination program involving volunteers as part of the Phase 3 trial of the domestic vaccine was launched at Ankara City Hospital with the online participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
President Erdoğan emphasized that vaccines are the most effective and widely recognized tool worldwide in the fight against the pandemic, noting that with the administration of the first dose in Phase 3, Turkey is opening a new chapter in this regard.
Addressing the name of the domestic vaccine, Erdoğan stated that "TURKOVAC" would be the most appropriate name across Turkey for ease of pronunciation.
