Areas of Activity

The center’s establishment and operational objectives are as follows:
a) To identify known or newly emerging infectious agents.
b) To characterize the immunological properties of identified agents and to identify potential vaccine candidates.
c) To conduct necessary preclinical and clinical studies on potential vaccine candidates.
d) To support the requests of other individuals, institutions, and organizations working in the same field.
e) To stay updated with international advancements related to the center’s field of activity.
f) To conduct educational activities and publish relevant work in the center’s area of focus.
g) To provide recommendations regarding postgraduate education related to the center’s research areas.

The center’s areas of activity are as follows:
a) To develop research projects related to known or emerging infectious agents.
b) To establish and maintain an effective communication network with the Ministry of Health and the Turkish Public Health Institution to access information on known or emerging infections in Turkey, and to develop mechanisms ensuring the continuity of this network.
c) To collaborate with relevant institutions, organizations, and clinical researchers in identifying known or emerging disease agents that pose a threat to public health, and to contribute to these processes.
ç) To develop national and international projects focused on potential vaccine candidates.
d) To collaborate with similar institutions both domestically and internationally.
e) To share findings from the center’s research and application activities, excluding those under confidentiality, through scientific publications.
f) To organize and conduct educational and certification programs related to the center’s fields of activity.
g) To monitor scientific studies in vaccine technologies, establish relationships with research and development centers, and create opportunities for joint collaborations.
ğ) To provide educational and technical support for vaccine development activities with the assistance of universities and other institutions.
h) To follow scientific studies and practices closely, and to conduct activities aimed at improving and updating the center’s research infrastructure.
ı) To offer research and practical opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students from Erciyes University and other universities, allowing them to participate in the center’s activities as researchers, and to provide educational and advisory services.
i) To organize national and international congresses, symposiums, conferences, and other scientific events.
j) To encourage the participation of the center’s staff in national and international scientific events.
k) To guide the transfer of methods and technologies developed at the center to industry.
l) To ensure the periodic evaluation of the center’s activities.
m) To ensure compliance with biosafety and bioethics regulations and to take the necessary precautions.

ERAGEM continues its operations as a center affiliated with the Rectorate of Erciyes University.
